I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York (not the big city) and was lucky to have fantastic teachers that made me want to become one. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education and my master's degree in Literacy Education. After college, I spent a year living on the Mississippi River, rebuilding houses in New Orleans, and digging trail in Illinois with AmeriCorps. This experience instilled a sense of service and adventure in me. Before I moved to Montana, I taught fourth graders in Virginia. Now, I am discovering the beauty of the Big Sky State and teaching third grade at Hawthorne Elementary. I love to hike, travel, and read.
