Weekly Update 1/7/13

The students understandably were a bit sleepy on Wednesday, but were back in full swing by Thursday.

Communication Arts:
Story: The Gardener (continued)
Focus: Cause and Effect and Author's Purpose
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Spelling: prefixes contractions*

*The spelling test will be on Tuesday, 1/8/13.

 
Math: 
Unit 7: Multiplication and Division with 0-5, 9, and 10.
A letter was sent home on Friday explaining this unit. It is so important that students practice multiplication facts at home. Flashcards can be purchased at the Dollar Tree or can be made out of index cards. The students are excited about earning multiplication licenses. Students earn these by completing facts in under a minute. Pictures to come!
